(If you go through google shopping and search for sapphire hd4850, it takes you to newbiiz where you appearantly get a discount. Now it only costs $160- it has [FR] infront of it in when I view it in shopping cart, don't know what that means)

Which one should I get? It seems the 100245L has "Built-in HDMI and 7.1 Surround Audio", as I have no idea what that means.

My HIS HD4850 came with a dvi > hdmi adapter, and thought i've yet to try it, apparently it passes sound through as well.

Yeah, this card, like my card, has it's own built-in HD audio that goes through the HDMI port on the card (or through the DVI port via adapter). Mine only has 5.1 audio though, this one has 7.1, if that matters.

This is a better feature than NVIDIA cards offer. My Diamond 8600GTS had an HDMI port but did not have built in audio, so a second cable was needed to go from the soundcard (outside the case) to the card in order to provide audio through the cable. ATI saves us the trouble of this bullshit.

hum, that is kind of misleading if that is the case. I think most of the 4850 come with an adapter.

All of them do. However, I don't see how it's misleading, considering the HDMI support is completely native, and they support audio-over-HDMI without any extra cables. The adapter itself merely changes the connector, however the pins themselves are being run straight through the DVI ports.
