I'm in the market for a new pc and was wondering what the difference is between the 2 cpu's listed in the topic.. the e6750 is $20 cheaper than the e6600 but has a higher model number, this has me confused.. Can any shed some light on this situation?

e6600 runs at 2.4Ghz stock on a 266 FSB
e6750 runs at 2.66Ghz stock on a 333 FSB and is a favored over clocker around here

Just ignore the model numbers.

E6750 is a newer Conroe core than the E6600.

E6600 = 2.4Ghz Core, 1066Mhz FSB
E6750 = 2.66Ghz Core, 1333Mhz FSB

The E6750 is faster than the E6600. I would buy the E6750.

So, the E6550 and E6300 are a similar relationship? The E6550 is more in my price range (for now) for my next system build and was just curious ... Although that E6750 sure looks like a good choice (damn budgets....)

While the e6750 is a great cpu the e6600 is EOL and can perform quite well when over clocked.

when intel cane out with the 6750 and the 6550 and all the other 1333 mhz fsb cpus they priced them lower that then older models and for some unknown reason didn't adjust the rest of their line ups prices accordingly. Get the 6750 its faster and cheaper.
