whats the difference between 7200.10 .9 etc

sorry i have been out of the loop for a long time now been very busy with other things so i never learned what all this new drive stuff is like 7200.10 and 7200.9, can someone explain

and you can raid them together with no problem right?
 
but the speed differences are negligible since they're still 7200rpm drives.

no? look at some benchmarks. the 10 is quite a bit faster due to the higher data density.
