I'm having an issue with an avi file of a vacation trip I took with my GF 2 years ago. I shot that in DV and compressed with DIVX and the original tape was taped over. However this "precious to me" footage seems to have gotten corrupted somehow. I guess it did somewhere between the transfer to a new HDD
I know is not a codec issue, but it just wont play. Now I remember hearing of a ton of avi repair programs. Can anyone mention a good spyware/ad free, etc?
thanks
Here is the info on the file: (provided by g-spot)
ERROR:
An invalid chunk has been encountered in the list containing the A/V frame data. Though not as serious as a corrupt header, it may still be serious enough to prevent the file from rendering correctly.
Details: While processing chunk /RIFF:AVI , found bad length value 4244134352 at file offset 0x26efd5ba
SCREENSHOT
EDIT: virtual dub gives me these:
[!] AVI: Index not found or damaged -- reconstructing via file scan.
[!] AVI: Invalid chunk detected at 590378. Enabling aggressive recovery mode.
[!] AVI: Keyframe flag reconstruction was not specified in open options and
the video stream is not a known keyframe-only type. Seeking in the video
stream may be extremely slow.
It will play sounds, then skip, etc and the window ius purple where the vid should be...
Thanks for any help you can provide
