Case: Lian Li V2100

CPU: QX9650

Motherboard: Asus Maximus Formula

Radiators: Single 120.3 mounted in top of case and dual 120.2's on bottom of case

Tubing: Tygon 3603

I want to WC these:

CPU
NB (optional)
SB (optional)
Mosfet (optional)
Dual 3870 X2's

Im giving myself a major headache beings that Im a first timer... a few variations and not sure which will give me best heat dissipation as well as best looking loop configuration. I have thought about these configs:

Config 1 --> 2 loops: Top 120.3 cooling CPU+NB+SB+Mosfet and then both bottom 120.2's in the same loop cooling both video cards.

Config 2 --> 3 loops: (Same as Config 1) but have each video card on its own loop and its own 120.2

Config 3 --> (Same as Config 1) but reverse the order... having CPU+NB+SB+Mosfet on the bottom 120.2's and then both video cards on the top 120.3

Here is a pic of the case (presently only shows a single 120.2 on the bottom)

I'd skip cooling the NB, SB, and mosfets ... If you are really set on it, consider putting them in their own loop ... not that they generate so much heat, but can be restrictive. You could go one 120.2 for the chipset/mosfet loop, one 120.2 for the CPU, and use the 120.3 for the GPUs. BUT, you'll have to add a third pump and that may be more trouble than it's worth.

If you don't want three loops, try your option 1.

You can always redo things after you've tried one option. (I assume that pic isn't your system, as those don't look like Thermochill radiators).
 
That will be my system in the pic... WC Edition from Performance-PCS, I reference 120.?? only because I have called them like 360 and people ask me if Im talking about an XBox lol. Can you explain restrictive?
 
Config two is probably the best option of the above listed, but I'd skip WC on the mosfets (buy Thermalright heatsinks for them instead) and SB (again, Thermalright). With good case flow you should be able to run them passive. Besides, no fans/flow over the board can lead to other problems in things that normally don't get hot.

Restrictive: cause backpressure, more work for the pump, slow down flow. This is due to the small channels in pretty much all MOSFET blocks.

the price is very spacious too, its about a thousand dollars for that case with the rads and pumps fitted in it. i would rather be doing the loops in a UFO case or something for a third of the price, but its all personal opinion lol
 
From a price perspective, doing dual or triple loops in a MM UFO won't be a third of the cost ... don't forget, you pay for the rads/res/fans, etc.

@Maxximus. If you're not using Thermochill PA 120.2 or 120.3 rads, you may want to be a bit careful in terms of putting too much on any one radiator. Option 2 may be your best choice for maximum overclocking of CPU and GPU, especially if you don't include the mosfet and SB. No matter how you set it up, I imagine you'll get decent temps ... the issue will be just how much extra heat you can push through when you OC.
 
Im not planning a major OC of the CPU... 4.3GHz from what I understand is almost if not capable of being done on air... as for GPU's, honestly I dont know... never fiddled with OC them before.

Yep. I'm considering volt-modding my GTX, as it won't go above ~675Mhz and load temps are under 50C. Got another in the mail and it may get the treatment as well. Not sure I want to risk it though.
 
Yeah.. I am wanting to also but then again wonder if it would really be worth the risk....
I hate how after spending two days building/testing two water loops... you kind of wish you had stuck to air cooling haha

That Lian Li costs about $220-$250 depending on where you get it. The MM UFO costs about $50-$100 more depending on window kits and stuff. I like the UFO but just dont have the room around my desk for its shape. I do have the Lian Li V2000B though and I def like the room. I don't think I will be worrying about running out of places to put things.

About the OP, I like all three options but I don't have the balls to put that much tubing in my case......yet.

Well I cant say if I have balls or not, this is my first build so I just may find out that all that tubing aint gonna work. Though I did read a nice thread yesterday that did a monster review on a massive amount of tubing and out of all of them they rated the Tygon 3603 7/16" ID 5/8" OD the best in regards to multiple loops, anti kink and just overall ability to work with it. So I dont think using this will give me any problems compared to how I was feeling with that 3/4" OD Tygon.
