I need some help these are my specs and they don't seem to doing the best they should be:
Athlon XP 2600+ Default
Thermaltake Silent Boost 36/36C IDLE. System/CPU
RAM: PMI PC3200 DPL (2-3-2-6) My Default Settings in BIOS (2.5-4-4-8)
MOBO: MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR
Graphics: ATI 9600XT
HD: 36GIG WD 10K

I've heard that the optimal settings for NFORCE2 board are 2-2-2-11 I've tried that, it freezes though. any help would be appreciated thanks.

This thread needs to be locked, you can only overclock as much as u can, its different for every comp. Moderators, please

my estimate 5Ghz, if you need more juice hook up some jumper cables from your car battery to the top left(black) and top right(red) of your motherboard. Just clamp it right on the edges the current will go to the right spot. You see the 12volt battery in a car supplies a more steady current than an AC current converted to DC so that why you need that. GO FOR IT AND COME BACK AND TELL ME HOW IT WORKS!!

This message is for anyone else who wants to know how far they can overclock, also.

(*disclaimer: overclock and overvolt at your own risk*)

P.S. You may want to also check with the magic 8-ball and ask it a few questions. Like: Can I overclock to ______ Mhz? (then shake and turn over to reveal answer) This works well too.

come on, its ALMOST a legitimate question......

but as anyone here can tell u, theres absolutely no way to tell u how much of an overclock YOU will get. i would shoot for maybe 300mhz though if i had to guess a number, but there are ALOT more factors.

What's with all the harshness towards his question? If you think it's dumb, ignore it..

@ Qwertyman:
Like most other people will tell you, it's really system dependant. Again, try oc'ing in small increments and see what your system will handle. Good luck!

There is an unwritten rule in this forum about posts like this. We call it being a "mini-mod" and it is a sure way to make you unpopular with the mods and admins.

There is an icon under every users name to report bad posts. Feel free to PM me or any other mod or admin if you have an issue with a post or user.

I asked if I could overclock my A64 to 2.7GHz. The magic eight-ball said... "I don't know".

BTW, he did change his original post message which was more noobish in the way he asked "how high will this chip overclock"

Thats why I gave him so much sarcasm!
