I never noticed before, but it looks like my GPU temperature on my 6800 GT is extremely hot. Its at 80-90 C idle temperature, so now im trying to find a good cooling unit for my GPU.

I came across the Thermalright v1, im currently using a thermalright xp-120 for my CPU and the thing works awesome, however, im starting to wonder how the hell these two huge things will fit in my case. Looking into my case, I see that the motherboard heatsink is right above the GFX card and looks like there is very little room in my case left because of the xp-120. I will try to provide a screenshot of the interior of my case once I find my damn memory stick for my camera.

If someone has successfully installed this thing with a XP-120 in their case can you provide screenshots please? Also if anyone wants to give there 2 cents on what I should do i would appreciate it.

Also a question about RAM cooling, does it even make a difference?

If you're at 80+ C at IDLE, you have much bigger problems. Did you tinker with the heatsink yourself?

Either your case is hellishly hot and has no airflow, or your heatsink is on very wrong.

no clue, its the stock heatsink on the CPU atm, but based on the temp readings on this active monitor program, Zone 1 gets 32 C, Zone 2 Gets 38 C

The Zalman vga cooler is great, the all copper one. vf700 or something like that.

Hmm, the Zalman looks pretty good, has anyone tried out the Thermalright V1, I have had good experiences with thermalright, however I am not too sure if it will fit.

Thermalright is a great co... but for the $ and performance YOU CANNOT BEAT THE ZALMAN.

I have one personally.

if you can hold off for a month or two, the new zalman gpu cooler is coming out. Its like the vf-700 but with heatpipes.

Ended up getting the Thermalright v-1 ultra, ended up coming out like 50$ shipped. Installation took me only 30minutes, and the thing dropped it down to 45-50 C, from my previous insane temperature of 60-70. As for it fitting along with my XP-120 already in my case, there was no interference whatsoever, and both are working awesome.

GO GO THERMALRIGHT!!!!
