I have two cards I want to cmpare... One is a BFG FX-5500OC 256mb // And a PNY 5700LE Optima 128mb. Which is better? Thanks.

I would say the BFG just cause of the extra 128 ram and i heard you can oc that bad boy.

Umm don't think so neither one of those cards are powerful enough to make use of 256mbs of memory. I would get the 5700le and OC to 5700 speeds.

Well it depends on the model because a 128mb with better shaders and more pipes could be better then an older card with 256mb so id say the 128mb one

i have them both.... currenly I have the 5500 installed. My brother upgraded his whole system and he gave it to me. And I want to know if its worth putting in and taking the 5500 out. Thanks.

just try each one with 3dmark2001 and 2K5 and see which scores the best. You got both cards, now is the perfect opportunity to compare them...

Pretty easy to cleanly swap them out and test. My vote is for the 5500. We can take bets!

and the winner is NETHER there the same maybe the 5500 if its OCed ill have to look up BFGs clocks

ether way time for some thing much newer or atlest some thing from ATi of that time o_O

ok after looking up the clocks the 5500 from BFG is slightly faster but i dont think youll see any diffrence any way

imo if your getting some thing that old 9600XT >.>
but get some thing made in the last year or so atlest

Sounds like you have Pci and no AGP. If so get a 6200 Pci card, it'll own both of the FX series cards.

If you got AGP and wanna stay in that price bracket get a 9600 Pro 128mb ( 256mb is a waste on anything below a 5900/9800 not to mention the 256mb version would be slower than a 128mb version of the same card due to increased memory latency ).

Read.... I said I have both on hand!!! Im not planing on getting something else... all I play is CS and still pwn people with 10X better systems! I just want to know which is better so I can get rid of one. Danny

5700LE. When overclocked to the max the 5500 oc will perform 5% better but then you can overclock the 5700LE :D

If you have both cards already, why don't you install one of them and benchmark it. Then install the 2nd and benchmark it. Whichever has the higher score or tickles your fancy more, keep it.

Ok I tested the 5500...

Does it work in games?

Terra...

i think you can get more power off on board graphics , how much did you pay for these and why? :)

Also why is it you want to know , are you going to train them for the next olympics. Man you are funny. ;)

keep the one you got most marks for or sell them both and get new one with the money.

Man Im funny?? Haha... STFU! you cant read KID!! I said twice or more I have these cards on hand (meaning right in front of me)!!! I didnt buy them! The 5700le was given to me... I currently have the 5500 installed. Dont try to be a funny guy with those smart ass remarks.... If I wanted some kids talking shit I would have made the title ( Which sucks more?)

ok..... now..... When I installed the 5700le it wants me to install the drivers.... dont the 5500 and the 5700 have the same drivers...? Well I tryed installing new drivers from nvidia and it tells me in the middle of installing something might not work properly to stop or continue anyway.... Well I delete the old drivers and the omega drivers.... ans installed the new one from nvidia.com. I worked but when I restarted I get your monitor is out of frequency...black screen. So I went in safe mode a restored the old settings for the 5500 because the 5700 in giving me a hard time.... It should be a simple swap and install (ive build a few comps before). Thanks. No smart ass replys from immature kidds PLEASE!!!

it does work in games... the 5500 when stock rns smooth but if overclocked like above it gets a little framey.. I think its over heating a lil.. So I keep it stock. I only play CS1.6........ i cold use a 32mb card and still own nooh-b's!!!!!!!!
