The GF4 MX series is a rebadged GF2, so yes, the GF3 is better overall.

Some GF4mx cards might be comparable in performance to the GF3 Ti200 (when looking at DX7 stuff with no AA/AF) but the 440SE is one of the slower models (having both slower mem and core than the normal 440), so there's not really even a comparison.

Go with the Ti200 (which, for reference is generally within about 5-10% of a Radeon 9000, sometimes faster, sometimes slower)

DOn't you mean Radeon 9100?

And not to foregt that gf4mx 440 SE has just 64bit mem support, it is actually 30% slower then the normal gf4mx440 .

In dx 7 games both wii be same nearly, but in dx 8 games gf4 mx wont work only period. for eg.
Prince of Persia.
Deus ex 2
Far Cry ( I doubt even gf3 will work smooth on that )

The gf 3 ti200 is nearly the speed of a radeon 9000.

For some odd reason nvidia and ati make their low end parts SLOWER than the last generation. Dont know why. The low end gf4mx shoulda been a gf3ti.

The Ti200 was the slower GF3, when I 'upgraded' to a GF3-Ti200 from a Radeon 9000, my 3dmark scores went down. Some other benches went up a bit & I got a -big- performance boost in linux (probably because of the better drivers).
