I have an i7 4770k, amd r9 380 (ill change it soon™), noctua nh-d14, psu calculator gave me a 450w peak so i'm looking for 500-600w psu.

My current xfx 650w pro makes an insane noise and i'm worried it will fail soon, so i'm looking for a silent psu at a decent price.
I've found EVGA supernova g2 550w, Corsair RMX (550w or 650w), they're all at 100€.
I'm leaning towards the corsair because reviews say it's quieter (the fan doesn't spin until around 250w), would the 550w be more appropriate than the 650w at the same price? Is the fanless operation a good thing or is it just marketing?

I would go all the way with the EVGA SuperNova, Corsair have been lately decreasing their mainstream power supplies and their top-end are just overpriced to what they offer, on the other hand EVGA are using top quality PSU manufacturer as their own name say, supernova mean is made by superflower one of the better PSU manufacturers in the market.. so that would be my choice, honestly with that system even overclocked you are at about 300-350W with the Supernova G2 550W you will be more than fine..

No benefit to buying the 550 over the 650 at the same price point, may as well get the 650.

Fanless is mostly a marketing gimmick in my experience. Properly designed fan controllers spin up based on the temperature inside the PSU, and most fans used in PSUs are practically inaudible inside a case at low speeds.
