I really don't know, sry for being stupid. I've been told that i need a
3pin-4pin fan adapter (so it runs of a molex connector

What's a 3 or 4 pin adapter? It's for a Fan btw.

molex = wide 4 pin cables that power cd rom's and hard drives and the like. (4 pins = 12v, GND, 5v, GND)

3 pin = fan headers for the motherboard, allows fan monitoring (3 pins = 12v, GND, fan monitoring)

Molex Connector The white, 4-pin connectors inside your computer case that come from the power supply. These attach to various drives, devices, etc. It'll have a yellow, red, and two black wires running to it.

3-pin connector These are sometimes found on case fans nowadays because they get connected to the motherboard on fan headers (which are only three pin).

The molex is significantly larger then the 3-pin connector, and when they say '3-pin to 4-pin adapter' it's a converting harness that converts the two of 'em to work. Basically it's connecting to the 3-pin and then giving you a female molex connector to attach to one of them coming from your power supply.

next time plug this in the general hardware area - you'd gotten a faster response - ok look at your power supply - see the wires comming out of it in sets of 4 (red, black, black, yellow.) At the end of the wires is a white plug that has 4 holes to connect to another plug that has 4 pins. That is a molex connector. Now look at your cpu heatsink fan - notice it has 3 wires coming out to a brown plug - that is a three pin connector - there is a wire (known as an adapter) (I think you can get them at Radio Shack or Compusa) that changes that three to a four connect - now that adapter (shown in link below) allows for the fan to pull power directly from the power supply instead of thru the motherboard (preventing you from plugging a fan too powerful into the baord & killing it)

The two connects on the left are the molex type, the smaller is for the 3 pin fan connect...
There you go and good luck
