I came from a Macbook pro to my Envy 15 and I'm a little confused on what webcam program i'm suppose to use. I installed Windows with my own CD and don't have all the HP programs.

Can anybody recommend a good program to use the webcam to take pictures and simple videos?

Many messengers have built in support, but it can be cumbersome and depends on the protocol. Trying to find a program to locally save HD-quality pictures and video at high FPS is sometimes troublesome. I know a few in Linux (Cheese is good, PhotoBooth-level) but its hard to find ones that are free and high function for windows. Heck, even the paid Windows clients are often crap in either features or compatibility.

If you want to find the HP program, just head to their site and download the correct webcam driver/program for your Envy, if you like. Personally, unless you're having driver problems I would consider that a last resort. Instead....

Yawcam , Ablecam, Debut, WebcamXP, and others may be of help. Try...

and use tag:capture or tag:webcam to poke around for what you like. Click on one and then to its alternatives for another list of similar items for each.
