I'm looking for a fire-wire editing card in order to transfer video onto my computer from my camera. Right now I am using a tv capture card via the RCA connection, and the quality isnt that great.

So ya, whats a nice one?

THanks

Any firewire card is fine for getting the video to the PC.
I bought a couple of them from Newegg, they were $9.99 each since my motherboards didn't have FireWire.

I have a Matrox RT2000 editing system in one of my machines, it does real-time effects and titles with Premiere 6.5 so I don't have to do any rendering unless I have more than 2 effects going at one time.

At the office we have 2 Matrox RTX.100 suites that we do editing on, but that card is $600, or $999 if you get the Adobe software bundle.

What do you plan on editing? And what are your plans for the edited videos?
