I need some suggestions for a good broadband wireless router for cable internet.
The main PC is going to use wired LAN and a laptop is going to use the wireless LAN.
If it makes a difference, it is going to be placed in a log home where the walls are huge logs.

The price range is $60 - $100.

i would look at a linksys wrt54g. it has several alternative firmwares available that increase the power of the wireless and add other features

I recommend stepping up to Pre-N/MIMO. Any router based on the Airgo True MIMO chipset.

Linksys wrt54gx is above your price range....but coming down....
Linksys wrt54gx2 is at the top of your price range....coming down
Belking Pre-N model is smack in the middle of your price range.

I've setup a few of them, they blow the doors off of old G as far as distance and getting that signal where you need it. If you have thick walls and are worried about it...I'd surely go with a MIMO unit....less of a gamble.
