For gaming would you rather have an ATI Fire GL 256mb or an ATI (Sapphire) radeon x850xt 256mb? I'm trying to decide which one to get for my custom comp.
 
Too vague.

FireGL 256 That could be the X300 core with 256 Ram

Do you need a GL anyway?
 
Why would you even consider a FireGL for a gaming comp? Those are workstation cards and they perform worse game-wise.
 
FireGL's are made for 3D modeling and other things of that sort. If you are going to be doing a lot of gaming than the x850 xt is defly the way you should go.
