i have a old case that i painted (inside) and if i sand blasted it would it ruin the case? i just want the paint off. also what if i powder coated it what would it look like?

no sandblasting would like make it nice and smooth n stuff. make the paint look new or maybe chip it off. never used it on paint. i use it on tile for pools n spas n like outdoor stuff.. dont know about this thouhg. im tired so i ant answer better thsen this

If it's a steel case it wont do anything but blast the paint off. Aluminum it will leave little marks from the sand hitting it.

Powder coating looks exactly like paint only it's 10x harder to scratch. Lasts way longer and is generally more durable.

this is the inside of the case not the outside. it isnt the side pannels or the top or front. after i get it sandblasted it will be powder coated black so ill post it under worklogs after i start it,.

How about just buy some paint remover and apply it then wipe the paint off?
Sandblasting would be a waste of time.

If you sandblast it, wouldn't you have to put something on the surface otherwise it will corrode easier?

its metal.............. its going to get powder coated to... well see its my old case

Bead blasting (like sand blasting but uses small beads of glass) metal makes it look REALLY nice but the smallest ammount of oils from your hands will show up so youd have to clear-coat it immediatly after bead blasting. I used to work in a machine shop and always loved the way bead blasting made aluminum and just about any other metal look. I no longer work there so getting free bead blasting done is no longer an option for me :(

I don't think it would "ruin" the case but the coarsness of the metal after sand blasting would make slide side pannels on and off a major PITA. it would be a good idea to mask of any areas that make any sliding contact. Bead blasting , on the other hand, stays pretty smooth and the sliding wouldn't be as much of a problem.

ok a little tip.. make sure you have enough paint before you start. now i have to go get another spray can
