What Would Be Better ?

Well I have some money $300-400 to spend on my pc

My Current specs are

Lian Li PC 61B w/ Antec TruePower 430W
2500+ Barton @ 2.4 gigs 11x 220
Abit NF7 S
1 GB DDR400 Mushkin Level 1 2 x 512mb
36.7GB WD Raptor
BB ATI R9800Pro @ 440/360

I am mostly happy with it as it does all the things I want it to do but with the unexpected money that I got I am wondering what would increase my gaming performance mainly CS Soruce

A new X800XT or a A64 bit proc and mobo ?

I'd go with a new vid card.
You smell like an ATI whore, but I'm an NV whore so I'm going to suggest a 6800<something> anyway.
Seriously though, I'd get the vid card unless you think it'll be the last time you get enough cash for a mobo + proc upgrade for at least a year & probably more. An AXP at 2.4 is more than enough punch for anything out there now, and a better vid card will provide a much greater image quality improvement.

Definatly an A64 combo. The X800 would get bottlenecked by the processor and not run at full potential. With an A64, your 9800 Pro would show it's max performance. Plus, the 9800 Pro is still a great card.

Yes go with a MSI "K8N Neo2 Platinum" with Athlon 64 3200+ and yes that 430w PSU whould work fine. I would get some extra cooling if you need any and it should overclock really well.

i do not think u really need to upgrade.....

just cause u have money doesnt mean u should spend it.......

put the money in the bank, gain interest, raise up even more money and actually make ur upgrade worth while in the future

EDIT- looks like u could use a bigger HDD though
