I know from right to left that the first is the 4 pin power connector and next to that is the IDE cable; but what are the other 3 connections to the left of that?

Righ to left.
1. 4 pin power
2. IDE connection
3. ??? (4 pin...)
4. ??? (4 pin...)
5. ??? (2 pin...)

3.) Jumper Setting for "Master/Slave/Cable Select" IDE Setting.

Yeah, the CD audio outputs (both analog and digital) are obsolete by today's standards. Digital extraction goes through IDE cable nowadays. From my understanding, you only need the left two connected to your soundcard if you're playing a really old game that used CD audio (like Descent, MechWarrior 2, etc....usually classic DOS games and early Win95). Other than that, you don't need the left two connected to anything as long as you have digital playback enabled in your Device Manager.
