I was just wondering what i should get next. another stick of ram or a new cpu?
what you guys think

I guess that would depend on alot of factors; like what cpu you have, how much ram you have, what type of ram, etc etc. Post your current system specs.

I just upgraded from a 1.8ghz P4 s478 to a 2.6ghz P4 s478 using my same mobo. Windows is a bit snappier and I can go up a resolution (or 2 maybe) in games. Not a dramatic boost. I was scoring about 10600 in 3dmark 2001se before and now get about 13800, about a 30% increase.

ok so if i got another stick of 256 same ram as i got now and ran them in dual channel mode i would see a noticeable difference?

ram...
you need at least 512...
i hate seeing anything faster than 1ghz with less than 512 mb of ram.. i just don't see the point...

and get the same one as you have now... i think dual channel makes more of a difference on intel than amd... so you should see an improvement...

Sorry i had my sigs turned off, i would get more ram like everyone else said, upgrade to atleast 512 if not 1 gig.
