What to upgrade?

So my current setup in in sig. Im thinking either 4GB more RAM or a Q8400? And if Q8400, which cooler to keep it cool around 3.6Ghz?
 
I don't think the Intel 965P chipset can support the 45nm Q8400 Quad cpu. I know it can support 1333 FSB cpus but, I am thinking it supports the 65nm 1333 FSB cpus like the Intel Core 2 E6550 for example. The Rev 3.3 model will support the 45nm Yorkfield Quads.
 
There's a beta BIOS for Yorkfields, so as long as you have that BIOS, you should be fine, since you're not using v1.0/1.1. Should be fine for rev1.3.
 
well F13 is no longer in beta and F13 is what added .45nm support for 2.0/3.3. F13 is what i have on my 1.3. hoping to get 3.6Ghz out of teh q8400 as my mobo does 1800mhz fsb with no prob. also the chipset revision on mine is C2. We'll see i guess.
 
yeah it works. running q8400 at 3.2 stock voltage on my rev 1.3 DS3.
 
i nudged by northbridge heatsink and now its lose. The highest fsb i can get is like 420 as opposed to 450 before. way to lazy to correct it.
