On a gfx card, what would you put on the ram chips (front and back) for thermal conductance? Is it ceramique? I dont think you would put AS5 on it, just the core. Could anyone confirm this? I want to resell my GTX and I want to apply a fresh coat of AS5 on the core and thermal compound x on the RAM. I would just like to know what x is. Thanks.

U can use an epoxy mix of artic alumni or somthing like that. or u could use the silver epoxy but mix in AC5 with it wich should help temps alittle better and makes it alittle rubbery so u can remove the ram sinks easier when u go to sell the card. now with the alumni epoxy it hardens but if u use a dab just in the middle of the ramsink and use more alumni and less hardner its easier to twist it off. but it has to be just the right mix or it wont harden enough. To much and you will ripp off the chip. I personaly dont have experiance with the ac5 epoxy.

I've got some of that AS5 epoxy, I used it to attach a heatsink to the south bridge on an old mobo... it's definitely perminant, I *can't* remove the hs even if I wanted to. That was with a little dab of the mixture in the middle too :/

See I dont want anything to stick or be permanent. I just wnat something that will x-fer the heat from the ram chips to the sinks or plate. What XFX put on stock was some pads but I dont have any. What else could I put there?

I've heard, now dont quote me on this or run out and do it right away, but ive heard that some people put a tiny dab of something like superglue or such on the corners of the ram with arctic silver in the middle as thermal paste. supposedly it works alright, and if you only use a small teeny tiny dab of superglue the sinks can still pop off later if you want them too.

i use some salt...then some water...then some flours and work it into a dough....i mean i just use either ceramique or whatever mystery white paste i have laying around...as long as theres something on it.. its better then nothing.

superglue does work just make sure u use a small dab cause when u push it down it will spread out but its easiest to remove

you get the silver epoxy and mix it 1 to 1 with also an additonal 1 part normal as-5 then the sinks come off when you twist
