I know there are a lot of threads like this out there, but I am seriously torn.
I set up my new rig and it is missing the graphics as the last part. Its a X79 system so its going to have to last a few years. I am using an MATX case which although allows me to use any card length I want, I am limited to just one 2 slot card since I am using a sound card preventing SLI/Crossfire or a 3 slot card. I have aroiund 400-450 to spend and I cannot pick between a 680 GTX reference, or a 7970 Ghz edition. Currently I game at 1080p, but should be upping that to a resolution 2560 x ect sometime early next year. I want to be able to play all the current games as maxed out as possible on a 1080p+, one monitor setup. I was dead set on a 680, but the AMD cards seem to have equaled if not bested the 680 with the new crop of drivers. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Games I play is Shogun 2, BF 3, and looking at some of the newer games when the system is ready
P.S. PSU is 1350w enermax so power use is not really an issue
