hey i currently have an x2 3800+ wit 1gb OCZ ram (2-2-2-5) and a 6800gt o.c to ultra. My question is i am getting a 20" widescreen lcd tommorow. My question is do you think it would be more performance gain over time to go sli (of my current card) or sell and go single 7800gtx 512mb? let me know what you think. I was thinking sli cause games are gonna start supportin it.

Get the 7800. You can always sli that down the road anyhow and it will outperform the GTs alone. (At least according the reviews I've read)

Out of curiosity, what is the native resolution of the new monitor? Is that the only resolution it is capable of displaying?

its the highest resoultion it can display, and the actual physical number of pixels that are present on the screen. it will basically look like crap at any resolution lower than its native reso, but you can run them.

Ok, first I would go with the 7800 and SLI is going to go great. Now I don't want to sound mean or rude, but, "I was thinking sli cause games are gonna start supportin it." Games do suppot it already :)

6800 Ultra ain't got shit on the GTX512. Even with two 6800s.

So basically, teh 6800 is liek deffinitlee lickign 7800s balls.

sorry i left you out in the dark on resolution and monitor. The one i am gettin is a sceptre 20" widescreen lcd (from costco) i think the res is 1680x1050 like someone had said previousley. Here is my dilema like you know one is the video card. Here is my scenario i am def gettin the monitor and in feb for my b-day i am either going to get xbox 360 or sell 6800gt and get 7800gtx 512mb (for gift). now what do you think i can do and also how do you think my current card will handle the monitor and how will games look on it?
