Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'm getting a new HSF for christmas, and when I put the new one on, do I put TP over just where the little core is or over the whole thing-a-ma-jig...cpu is in sig...thanks..
Also, I've heard horror stories about people going to take ther HSF fan off and the CPU coming out w/ it...would it hurt to run the computer for about a min or so to heat the paste up so the CPU doesnt come out too...or is that a bad idea? Thanks again!
Won't hurt it, and it's suggested. If a chip does come out of its socket with the sink, aim a blowdryer where the chip and sink meet to heat up the goo.
