The folders on my threat list are getting closer. My folding addiction is telling me to bring the whole farm back online so that I won't get mowed. The power bill and heat is telling me to keep it off until the Chimp Challenge. Currently I've got around 50k PPD of folding power sitting turned off. What to do?

Seriously though, what is the monthly price for running that? We definitely don't want any folders going to the poor house because of electric bills. Could you halve your farm, sell half of it, and use the proceeds to run the other?

 
Ask Obama for stimulus to pay your bills. Bankers get our money for no work. Atleast your trying to do something good.

running half the farm and still pulling about 50k ppd is purty dang good lol!
 
Personally, I think you should at least let me catch up... Then turn up the heat - figuratively and literally.

If I wait that long then beekeeper([H]ardOCP) will mow me. Who is beekeeper([H]ardOCP) anyway?
 
I'd turn on a portion of your farm to stave them off. You don't need much to keep Styx0r off you. You need less to keep beekeeper off you (and know I don't know who he is either).

 
Dude my basement is soooo cold. It was 75 degrees here yesterday and my main floor said 79, but I was still bundled up in winter jacket and sweat pants in the basement. Send the 50k farm here. It would be nice to have a semi warm basement...Cheap electricity out here too...

 
I'm still waiting for my wife to ask why there is (yet) another computer heating up the basement. If she does ask.... I'm going to say I'm cleaning crap (spyware/maleware***...***...*** infinity) of a fellow employee's computer for beer money (yet again). ;)

I don't like threats, that's why I setup three powerful rigs to lower my carbon footprint :rolleyes: and fold protiens:cool:. God knows I cannot fold laundry :mad: (I've been told with no UNCERTAIN TERMS) but I sure can heat up my basement and fold. :D

It's all good.

Need a race or a challenge to get me to that point though. I would throwdown with everything I got if challenged. :D

I need to start monitoring the temp in my crawlspace, because I have plenty of room for a farm down there, if the temps are favorable...
 
i'd race or challenge you but i'm 4 mill back and about the max i can pump out :( capreppy you could put your farm in my name :D to help me make lassiterb go again!!

No, that pics is many a year old. From the days when "D" was just getting started. I forget who it belongs to.
 
Nice setup indeed.

Is that a web cam on top of the rig in the center? If so, I wonder what it is trying to see. Flames? Spiders?
 
Decided to sell some of my hardware so that It won't be tempting me anymore. Check the DC FS forum if you are looking to beef up your PPD for a good price.

While folding is a fun addiction, remember that the most important thing is to be comfortable yourself with the expenses associated with F@H or any DC. Don't push over the top to flatter your e-peen... Do what you can do and be proud of the accomplishment. Personnally, If I wanted, I could spend some money to bring 50-70k ppd more myself but I won't do that due to electricity cost and because my current life priorities is a bit different today. I know my contribution is very respectable and still in the top 20. That's what matter for me ;)
 
I hear ya xilikon i've been trying to push top 10 for awhile now and am about there but my priorities are changing back to spending money on my photography hobby and making sure my electrical bill doesn't go any farther threw the roof then it already is -_-
