I moved my computer up off the floor and was blocked by a desk and temps where around 30*c Idle and now my computer is above on a desk by a window and case temps are 17.8*c idle wow!

Specs

3.2 GHZ P4
Gigabyte 8KNXP
3500 Ram 1GB
3 x 80mm Case fans
1x 20 mm
6800GT in there..... might affect temps....?
36.6 10,000 Raptor
120GB Slave 8mb Cache 7200RPM
Thermaltake Lanfire Case.

I really doubt those temps. You must have the monitor software set up wrong. 17.8C is not possible unless you are using a pelt cooling system or you have your computer sitting outside in the winter.

OC to? you mean?

if so....no idea...just oc little bits at a time till it doesn't POST anyway and work the voltages and such.

Those temps still don't look realistic..but go ahead and try anyway.

You should be able expect to run the RAM at a 1:1 ratio with the CPU and get some extra speed without oc'ing the RAM.

He He there real window shut they go back up to 30 idle and 40 ish load :p

You need to slow down, take a deep breath, and type using English grammar and syntax.

Ok, I shut the window temps are back to before :D 30*c and 40* load.

The guy took his computer, set it next to his window, opened his window and he claims the temps were 17C. I doubt him too.

What exactly was the point of this thread? That you can cool your case temps down while fighting the harsh winter temps blowing in through a window?

i'm inclined to believe him. i do that all winter long. similar temps, too.

as for OC, just start pushing. everything. but one at a time. have fun and put on a sweatshirt or something, because you're going to leave the window open all winter now:p

That wasn't nice of me. But you do annoy me, CottonFire. Any ways, have fun or whatever you set out to do. Might get hard to type with those mittens on, eh? ;)

I opened my windows last week for about 10 minutes and my case temp was 17C and my cpu temp was 25C... both temperatures were still dropping but I got too cold... :)

Dude, if that extra 300mhz of an OC justifies wearing mittens while playing games with minimal noticeable performance increace... then keep doing it. Otherwise, this is kind of a fruitless thread. Post some OC results or something..
