What to buy?

Wait a couple of days for the 5770 and 5750 to be release. The 5750 should be priced around $150. The NDA is lifted in about 48 hours and the cards should be available soon after.
Would be silly to buy a 4800 series card right now just before the launch.

+1, and op what resolution and what games are you playing? Also what are the rest of your system specs (include your PSU)? The HD5770 would be nice if you have a lesser psu because it should only require a single 6pin connector. Plus $130 for a HD4850 is a horrible price. You can get an HD4850 for under $100 if you watch slickdeals, you can get an HD4870 1GB for under $130 from XFX, and thats a step above the 4850. Wait a couple of days and see if the HD5770 fits your needs (check the hardocp reviews on Tuesday, Brent says he has quite a treat for us).

Thank you for all the suggestions I will be looking into the 5700 series.

My current setup is
Mobo: M2N-SLI Deluxe
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Daul Core 4200+
Ram: 2 gigs/pc5400
PSU: Trublue 2.0 480 watt
Video: BFG 7800 GTX oc (which im sellig btw for $20 /shipped)
I play my games at no higher res then 1680x1050 also.

A review that i posted on the bit-tech topic states the 5770 performs about the same as a 4870 1gig.

So if yo uwant a card now a 4870 igig would be a good choice or if your willing to wait then the 5770 will be out in line 2 days or so.

Coming from that 7800 I have to admit you're going to be thoroughly impressed with how powerful cards have gotten in that price range.
