What in the world is wrong with my folding boxen. Take a quick look at my stats! :confused::eek: It's reporting something like 100+ units and 7k points today. I have 6 quad cores running SMP and probably 20 P4 3Ghz machines running the F@H service. What's gone wrong?

My non-SMP clients have been turning in some dinky point WU's lately:

How are you getting these and all I get are the chewy stick in your teeth kind :confused:

 
It's the new WUs. Everyone running the SMP client should be seeing a drop in daily production sooner or later.

 
You both might want to start by checking the log files in your folding directory. It's possible that for whatever reason you are having way too many early end work units.

Normal for early ends would be somwhere in the neighbor hood of 1 or 2 in a two month period.

Causes? Heat, to high an over clock and a real issue can be network connections. I know checking 30 computers can be a serious pain but a slightly less painful method is if you can open each folding client as a share and check the log files from one computer.

Keep in mind if those 30 you mentioned are work machines and they are turned off at night that alone can give you a network issue until the client finally times out. Some machines, mostly do to configuration issues when stopped will not read the log file and start over each time.

Sounds like you might be busy for a while, luck man;)
 
I agree with BillR I always go back and look at my logs through FAHMON in the morning to ensure I don't have any EUE's

Good practice to get in, but I also read somewhere on the forums @ f@H that there are some really small but quick units now for some clients. So that may also be the case, but don't worry my #'s from yesterday were pretty far off lowest in over a month

 
Those 25-30 P4s are apart of our lab's renderfarm and I set the client to only run when the renderfarm account is logged in. Maybe when people log that account off it is causing some major problems?

Edit: Nope, just checked one of their logs and I can see the client get interrupted by a logout and then pick back up once its logged in again. They have been running for maybe 5 days and this particular one looks like it completed a ton of units. I had copied the protein name but the clipboard didnt take before I ended the session. Something named Min-8 at the end.
