I'll spare the dramatics and get right to the point. I recently upgraded my computer from a Northwood based system to an Athlon64 939 based system on the Soltek SL-k8Tpro-939 motherboard. I've used my windows key twice like MS allows with no problem.
Just received my Plextor SATA PX-176SA DVD Burner today, hooked it up, but for some reason the SATA channels built into the motherboard aren't recognizing the drive. Did a little looking around, found out my motherboard might be incompatible.
No biggy. On Plextor's site it lists compatible SATA addon cards so I headed over to Best Buy and picked up the Adaptec 1205SA card. After installation my RAID 0 array wasn't being recognized. Finally got windows to boot and now it's telling me i've made a significant change to the system and my key has been used twice so I can't re-activate it now. Can i get a WTF?
Can someone please help me? I have a backup on another drive that i'll try, but seriously, why is XP telling me i've made a significant change to the system when all i did was plug in a RAID card.
