That happened to me the first time I ran it. I rebooted and it has been fine ever since.

It is kindof wonky.

i have already rebooted... i downloaded this through steam if that might change anything

/rage

and im using g35 headset atm

Ah well your sig had 5.1 in it.

I don't think steam has anything to do with it. I have 6 friends who all got the steam version... plus me... that's 7 with a wide range of hardware and none of us have any issues.

yea, im hoping its just the ATI drivers which im currently updating.. id hate it if this game didnt work for me :(

I'm running the Steam version on Windows 7 64-bit and 5.1 sound on a Soundblaster X-Fi card. There were a couple of times where I ran into stability issues. I couldn't run it for more than 20 minutes without a crash. I found that if I exit Steam and restart it, it remains stable. Might have something to do with editing the .ini files while Steam is running.

Anyway, see if that works for you.

EDIT: I'm using Catalyst 9.10 drivers. I did hear somewhere that the 9.11 beta drivers fixed some people's stability issues with Borderlands. Might want to track those down if you're still having problems.

everything SEEMS to be working right now, no more sound problems

edit: fucking fuck, its freezing at the saving pole

Swearing isn't allowed in thread titles, included implied swearing like WTF.
If you want something else than what I've changed it to, shoot me a PM

sorry about that vertigo

and yea, this games driving me nuts already :/, ive rebooted my comp 6 times now because it keeps freezing at random parts of the game

I'd try a reinstall. It could have been corrupted when you downloaded it initially. Yea, it's a PITA because you'd have to redownload it, but it's better than freezing randomly.

Steam has a function to verify the integrity of game files. Right click on a game and click "properties" iirc (sorry not at my home comp right now).

I have only had Borderlands crash once in the 15 hours I have played it so far and I think it is was mostly related to me fing around with the .ini files. I would definitely try a reinstall because its probably got nothing to do with your current hardware or OS.

alright, going to try and reinstall :/, it worked a bit then didnt again.

edit: tried to uninstall, it froze steam up, now game is both uninstalled and installed :(, this fuckingblwos, it says it has an error when i play it, yet i cant uninstall it..

edit2: nvm, now downloading/installin

compatibility mode and run it as admin maybe? >.>

Maybe your video card overheating. I've noticed this game works both my cards real hard. Stock hits 100% fan speed with temps hovering around 90c.

Im running steam version on Win7 x64 with ASUS Xonar DX, and its as stable as it gets.

I am on Nvidia though.

Me see sign for spec runs fine

PLEASE MAKE MORE BORDERLANDS THREADS, THE 10+ WE HAVE RIGHT NOW ISNT ENOUGH!

thanks dude, too bad this one isnt "post your screenshots" i had a legitimate problem that was solved, so maybe you need to cool down a bit?

Careful there... I have burned a card up when it got that hot (different game and special situation, yes, but still... careful.)

Your card isn't over heating.. I notice you have an ATI 48xx series card... Well a ton of people with ATI 48xx series cards are having the gpu stop responding error.. Myself included... I have over 50 games installed, and every one of them works, are patched, and are setup to play in settings.. All of them work. However with Borderlands I have constant ati gpu stops responding errors, and the only fix for this is to play in a window... weird I know.. My drivers are always updated and my fan speed is set to 100% and temps are fine mid game... I'm gonna continue playing windowed 1920x1080 until there is a patch or fix.. I had over 10 gpu reset errors in a row, before I had to manually close the program...
I've tried 3 different display drivers, CCC settings all fuxxed with, and even deleted some hotfix vista patch that some reported fixed their lockups... No dice for moi..

Oh well, its a cool game, and the windowed mode isn't too horrible.. Patch shouldn't be too long.. *knocks on wood*

i realized that if i sent my fan speed to 85% then it runs fine..

+1 for console gaming :D

Yeah those 360s and PS3s don't break by the thousands do they? Oh that's right, they do.

OP run all your clocks at default, cpu RAM and gpu. Go from there. If you're even OC'ing that is. If you're not then lol @ u

I'd expect such a weak response from a console player. That's because they go back to the vendor/manufacturer. Now move along little guy while us adults talk.
