I'm trying to decide on either the 30 inch samsung 305T (307T ?) and the dell or BenQ 30 inchers.
What technology does the samsung use again in their panels? I mean whats the name of it? And why is it better than the Dell And BenQ which uses the LG panels? What is the name of the technology used in the Lg panels?

PVA in Samsung.
IPS in LG.

Biggest difference is much better real world viewing angles with IPS. Otherwise nearly equal.

Woh woh woh woh! Hold on there bub. *closes eyes....shakes head slowly in frustration*
I thought everyone was saying that the PVA in the samsung panels are superior because it shows better blacks and better pixel response time. Now your saying that the IPS stuff is better?

Omg which is it? :(

I think PVA is the best in contrast/brightness/colors but the differents are minimal, and IPS has almost or no input lag.. So i'd go with IPS.. (or S-IPS/AS-IPS).

IPS is a more consistent panel across the board. Not much color shift and response times are pretty even across. PVA is less consistent with color shift and has spikes in response times with certain colors.

LG and Phillips are the only two companies who use the S-IPS in large format really though. Not sure why.

That really contrasts what some people are saying about the S-PVA. Some people are even willing to get the samsung 305T over the dell 3007wfp because of it. Are you sure about this?
Anyways, if I follow your advice, I will then wait for the BenQ fp301w 30 incher. Because the BenQ monitor uses S-IPS I believe.

But I thought the samsung stuff was supposed to be better. Where are the samsung defenders?

Actually the if you look at the numbers quoted by the manufacturers, PVA would win.

But if you actually looked at the panels you find that IPS is better.

Response times:
for PVA tend to be faster for different shades and slower for others, they quote the faster times. IPS tends to have a more consistent response time that actually works better in the real world.

Viewing Angles:
PVA and IPS quote the same numbers, but in the real world IPS is MUCH better.

Black: some controversy here, pure blacks may be better on PVA for the pixel directly in front of you, but the shiftyness of it is aggravating as heck.

IPS panels have also had less input lag in big sizes as well.

Not even remotely close in my book IPS is the best available choice (as opposed to VA or TN).

So in real world performance the dell 3007wfp would look better than the upcoming samsung 305T ??
Then I guess I will go with the upcoming BenQ model because of the multiple inputs.....
of course....if dell came out with a rev. 2 with multiple inputs then I would get that one.
:)

Dude? , you have been on the fence since Feb. Start enjoying life and pull the trigger on one for Goodness Sake .... :p :D

Ahhhh, but see I'm a long term strategist. And I'm a penny pincher. :p And a finicky nutcase!
I would actually wait AN ENTIRE YEAR (which is what seems to be happening) to get e x a c t l y what I want. :D

EDIT: Besides, I'm also waiting on the nvidia G80. Argh! I'm suffering because of the long wait but I think it was the right move.......I hope. =\
