I've found that displaying a solid white image on screen and leaving it for long periods of time seems to be the most effective solution.

What other methods have worked for you guys?

i am also interested, because I have a monitor that was used as an airport display and has gate 12 imprinted in it.

Most of us have probably never seen it, so haven't come up with strategies to deal with it.

My Monitor has >14000 hours on it, with not even a hint of IR.

It is an rare phenomena outside of public display LCDs that are on full brightness 24/7 for year and have likely cooked their LCD layers. There is likely no coming back from that.

For IPS/VA: Use a pure white image, since the default/off-state of IPS/VA panels is to block light.
For TN: Black image, since the off-state is non-blocking.

Maybe even periodically flash between black and white to exercise the crystals, so that they "forget" their previous state.

How did you get IR? Did you leave your screen on when you weren't home. How many hours on your panel? How high do you run brightness.
