What should I do?

I am stuck in a hard spot right now. I can't decide how I should upgrade my current rig.

Option 1:
New Case
7950 GT Card
Fx55 CPU
2 gig RAM G.Skillz

Option 2:
New Case
AM2 Mobo
7950 GT
Some Dual Core CPU ( I need help picking out a good AM2 dual core. I am currently leaning toward the 3800+.)
2 gig RAM G. Skillz

I guess what I am trying to ask is.... Do you think moving to AM2 will be worth it? Or should I just stay w/ a 939 mobo and get a very nice single core cpu and some nice goodies?

I think I might just stay with 939. However, I wanted to get some opinions. I also WILL NOT BE OVER CLOCKING!

What's your budget? What games do you play, and at what resolution?

If you want this upgrade to last you a while, Intel would give you the most performance boost.

If all you do is play one game at a time (no multi-tasking) and dont plan on playing future games that take advantage of dual core cpus without another upgrade, then go with the FX-55.

Upgrading to AM2 only gives you a better upgrade path, but any Core2Duo would outperform its AMD64X2 counterpart.

If you want more help, we'll need to know your budget, what games you play, and at what resolution you play at.

I probably will get the AM2. Since I really was looking into something where I can spend the money now and have a computer were I wont have to upgrade a lot of parts to upgrade same a CPU. I also am thinking about upgrading now b/c once I go off to school, next year, I wont have any money to upgrade in the future. I do play the Battlefield Series and anything that may catch my eye. I don't really have a budget. I am planning on getting either a 19 or 20 widescreen in the future. That is why I am looking for the 7950 gt, plus i don't want to have to upgrade that card for a while.

Sorry if that is all jumbled. I am trying to do my calc homework, it is late, and I am tired from hockey. haha

goin with AX2 over C2D will only save you around $50, and will also give you less performance for your money.
