I'm looking to build a small form factor computer for my girlfriend for our anniversary. I have a budget of about $500-600 or so, not including the monitor(Samsung 940BW) and the case (Ultra MicroFly) which I already have. She's looking to do some video editing/DVD encoding, photo editing, and some light/medium gaming. Any suggestions and/or comments would be much appreciated. Thanks.

My first suggestion is to not do it. If you want to spend 500-600 on your girlfriend (already a bad idea but lets go with it) then buy her jewelry. Tiffanys.com is a good place to start.

.Since she's doing video encoding mostly a C2D system would suit her nicely. E6300 w/ an Asus P5B-VM with some quality RAM (2 GB is preferable) and some mid end ~$100 video card would work well. Maybe a 7600GT?
