Welp, the FX-53 hits 2.64 Ghz (not Prime stable, bench / game stable though) with the stock HSF. I plan to get some AS3 this weekend and use that rather than stock paste.
Now the question is, what should I be cooling first? The FX, or the XT? I plan to Vapochill the FX at some point, so I'm thinking going with the XT might be the best choice.
When I run my FX-53 at even 1.7v at 2.7 Ghz, I can boot into Windows and everything, but games / benches all crash and exit themselves. Not sure if WC'ing will help me get higher. With the XT, if I go past 575 / 590 I get some artifacts, and benches / games will lock up. It does already have a vmod in place, but I'm hoping I can vmod it a bit more and push it farther with the watercooling.
In a few months I'll hopefully have a Vapochill on the FX and a water loop just for the XT. So the question remains, what do I watercool after Christmas?
