Hi Guys,

I am looking for a new monitor as my old one is broken.

First see here some info of my computer:
Motherboard: ASUS p5Q Deluxe
2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4GHz
4G Memory DDR2
Radeon HD 5770 with ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series Drivers
OS: Win 7 Home Premium x64 sp1

What i am looking for is a 27'' monitor but i don't know which one i should take. Most of the time I play games like Age of Empire, World of Warcraft, Conquest, ...

I checked on some forums and websites but sometimes one say a monitor it is good and another one say it is crap.

So i hope you guys can give me some info.
Here are those i filtered out on this website: I know it is in dutch but hey the name of the products stay the same ;)

Some monitors

Comparing

I know there are a lot more monitors on the market but it is just to give an idea what i am looking for.

I can spend 500€ - 600€ maxi.

Any suggestion?

Regards,
MF

The more I am looking around on forums and the more I get confused :(

Some say 120 hz is better some say it isn't.
Some say 1920x1200 is a must for gaming and others say it is not.
Some say 16:10 is better but 16:09 seems to be more the standard.

So please give me some advice.
On the other hand I checked other posts on the forum and it seems even here ppl are not sure. Some say so and other say different.

I guess there aren't realy bad monitors anymore but it seems a lot of ppl keep saying TL is best for gaming. Correct me if i am wrong.

120Hz is really upto you. It will be more expensive, however, it can display twice as many frames per second vs 60Hz monitors, for a "smoother" experience (also, in theory, more responsive).

1920x1200 is good for productivity. Gaming? Depends. Some more competitive games, like Starcraft 2, are made for 16:9's FOV, which means any other ratio, like 16:10, will actually see less of the game on screen.

(for example)

so it really depends. IMO, 1920x1200 is normally used by very old TN panels, and (newer) decent IPS panels. So since I'm already late for something, I'll come back again if you are still not sure (or have more questions that are not answered).

1920x1200 is just a bigger resolution and is better for just about everything, except for some silly games that lock the vertical FOV and if you really obsesses about a tiny amount of FOV difference between 16:9 and 16:10, you can just set you resolution to 1920x1080 for those few games.

or that. I ran my old laptop (m1210) at 1280x720 for that reason.

I think I will go for the Samsung SyncMaster P2770FH.

Most reviews say it is a good screen.
The only thing that make me hesitate is the colors.
I have the feeling the colors are not that greath on this screen :(

I can vouch for that. I have one myself and honestly, it is great!
