Just wondering, what Resolution monitor is "usually" used when gaming companies make recommended specs?

Example FO4

  • RECOMMENDED:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
    • Processor: Intel Core i7 4790 3.6 GHz/AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz or equivalent
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 780 3GB/AMD Radeon R9 290X 4GB or equivalent
    • Storage: 30 GB available space
What resolution monitor are they using to get these numbers ? 600 x 800 1024 x 768, 1920 x 1080 LOL ... 3840 x 2160

1080p is the most commonly used resolution so that is likely what they are targeting. However, that may not always be the case. Every developer uses sysreqs to mean different things and its a guessing game to figure out exactly what they're targeting unless they actually say so.
