That's kind of a sick price... $289.62 but it's out of stock right now. I like checking out onecall for recievers, sometimes they have them really cheap. Make sur eyou get something with analog 7.1 inputs though if you're going that route, this was the cheapest one I could find.. which is probably an adequate match for your speakers (no offense intended)

no tell me if i should get better speakers??? and where?

i mean idk much about speakers so if those are really that bad then what ones should i get??
cause it is for gaming. i thought JBL was a good brand of speakers. that is why i got that set.
i am not though looking for speakers that are like 1000 bucks.
 
i've never bought stuff from one call but they have good prices; however i like their 60min gimmick like eCost with their countdown timer.

i don't know many games that use 7.1-actually i don' t ANY but then again i'm outta the loop. if you got friends at BestBuy why don't you try to get those Athena speakers that they seem to always sell out of. JBL is a good brand and these seem more than enough for gaming purposes

i'm also looking for 7.1 receiver but i'm looking up to $1000 but HK has some good speakers for around 300
 
I'm not saying those are bad speakers... I've never heard them so i can't really tell. All I know that the newer JBL is not what the old JBL was and across the board their quality has diminished over time. My father's JBL's were great speakers.. the ones I see sold in like BB today are just a bit overpriced for what your'e getting. (I think they're just holding onto their name/rep and making money off of it)

Sadly... as far as 7.1 goes not enough people are making good 7.1 speaker setups..

Onix Rocket Tykes 5.1 ($399) (call them they might sell you an extra 2 to make 7.1)
Monitor Audio Radius (These are expensive.. I'd opt for the other two just for cost)

I do know Athena speakers are excellent for the price, I had a friend who was looking for a lower cost setup than what I had and those were in the running and ended up winning.
Those were floorstanders though so I can't honestly say I've listened to their smaller speakers. I would just have to assume they follow along the same lines.

Edit: ya I love the 60 minute gimmick that's there for like.. days.. :D

Edit #2: 7.1 in games.. you can look around these boards a bit I guess, I find a lot of the games coming out have support for 7.1 though. Ones I play anyway. Hmm I was looking online for a list of games with 7.1.. but can't find one.. maybe I should make one :p Couple that I have Half Life 2 and WoW.. I play those most of the time. BF2 as well. Call of Duty I think. Anyway.. more and more will come...
 
if you want jbl's, you can generally get them cheaper at j&r than at bestbuy... sometimes they have wicked good deals on them, actually...

as far as 7.1... do you have the room space/size/dimensions to set them up correctly?
 
If you want to get some good speakers, especially from Best Buy then get the old Athenas or JBLs, maybe Klipsch if you have the money. I know they also get real BIG discounts from the dealers at times ;) If you want a receiver then get Yamaha or Pioneer, I prefer Yamaha, Sony receivers sound pretty bad unless you get the real high end series.

That goes for most things Sony (synonymous for another 4 letter english word that starts with 's').
