i am confused on which to buy
made of aluminum but more surface area here

or copper but less surface areahere

they could just make copper ones with alot of fins everything in my computer is blue but if there is a 2C lead on the copper ones then i'd get the copper ones

and i know im anti-thermaltake but what can they screw up with theese when i'm also ordering AS-silver epoxy?

Definitely go for the copper. Much better thermal conductivity than aluminum as you already know.

Sorry bout that, i saw Thermaltake and just went straight to OCZ. You could always just buy two sets...

But if thats a little over the top, just get the copper ones you posted earlier, they'll do the job as well as you need them too. Also, the thermal tape should be enough but if you want security just buy the Arctic Adhesive and glue them to the ram, i did it on a 4200 and it worked like a charm.

As for thermaltake screwing anything up, they wont on something this small. YOU can screw it up by dropping the adhesive somewhere your not meant to, it being extremely conductive and all. Just mask off the area with tape and then apply like normal T.I.M and you should be fine.

heh, I've allways been told ramsinks are bad and usualy make temps higher...maybe that was heat spreaders?

Probably was heatspreaders. I can't imagine those thin alluminum heatspreaders would actually dissipate heat any faster than without. It might protect the ram from impacts during shipping a bit, though.

If you do use a ramsink, you might want to take of the thermal tape, since its probably crap. Also, the Arctic Alumina Adhesive is ceramic based, rather than silver based and is thus effectivly non-conductive (as opposed to the silver based adhesive).

Thats just ram heat-spreaders. The old ones used to do very little but the new copper ones with weird vent holes (read: OCZ) do actually help cool it.

Having ramsinks on video card ram is always good if its done properly.
