Basically what PSU do you suggest i get for my system (see sig) but with 2x5870's in crossfire? Will also be going to 9Gb RAM but power wise that's nothing, mainly the graphics upgrade.

was thinking HX1000? But have an OCZ PSU at the moment which i like so would prefer an OCZ alternative or PCP&C

Corsair HX850, Seaonic M12D 850 or S12D 850, if you don't mind the looks, XFX Black Edition 850W. Corsair TX950. Antec Signature 850..If you can find one , the PC P&C Silencer 910. Nothing OCZ has right now can compare price/performance wise to those.

To me it is unlikely you will need more than 700W even with 2x5870's in crossfire.

Ah cool, thanks guys! :)
I was pretty sure that my PSU would ok at powering them, but thought i'd better be safe than sorry. PC P&C Silencer review looks good, not actually silent but then again with 2 5870's you're looking at some noise, especially when overclocked.

Cheers :)

Just a note, mine is dead after 3 weeks of use in my i7 build. This is my second Antec to break in under a month of use in 2 years.
You were unlucky. It's unfortunate, but it doesn't change the fact that the Truepower New 750W is an excellent PSU.

Excellent can be a relative term. When its running it may be an excellent PSU - numerous review sites show this. I am just saying my personnel experience with it was not positive, and if I could choose again I would have go with one of the mutliple other options provided by HOOfan_1.

And I am just saying that the fact that you have had a bad experience with it does not make it a bad PSU, nor does it mean that it should not be considered as an option.

Completely in agreement with both statements which is why I prefaced my comment "Just a note". All I am saying, is that as a user of the Antec TP-750, I think, in my opinion, the other options are better.

Of course the OP should do his own research, and read other comments, and find the PSU he is most comfortable buying, whether it is a Corsair, Antec, XFX, whatever, I do not care, I just thought I would share my experience with one of the PSUs he is considering buying.

HX850 is cheaper and it performs better.

Is your OCZ loyalty due to customer service? If so, I am sure you can expect customer service just as good from Corsair.

Cool, looks like it's the HX the :)

Nope, it's only due to the fact mine is silent, seamless, efficient and damn reliable. But im sure i an get the same for the HX850, reviews seem to say so :)
