what program do i need to burn dvds?

I wanna take wrestling clips that i have on my pc and burn them to a dvd that will play on my dvd player downstairs or even my xbox. What program would do this for me?
 
do i make a video cd, super video cd or go to other fromat? Sorry i have no idea what i'm doing here so the more info the better.
 
There should be a plug-in for DVD-video. Here's a screenshot of mine.

just a warning... the OEM ver of nero will not burn avi and other vid file into a dvd-video without a plugin you can get from nero for about 25 bux....
