I read CPU in the store, since it's never in plastic. Read their modder's world mag too, since that thing's a beast.
Subscribed to pc gamer, and got a free subscription to CGW, and some random ps2 mag. Would like to get a maximum pc subscription, but I'm too cheap to buy one. Plus, a local comp store has a subscription, and i can just read it there
None anymore...I used to subscribe to MaxPC, CPU, Computer Gaming World and PC Gamer.
The problem is, that when I finally get the magazines, the news is allready a few months old and I've read it several times on the internet...every once in awhile I'll buy an issue for bathroom reading
Maximum PC is getting too mainstream imo
Sometimes there is decent stuff in CPU though, so I check that out from time to time if I don't have any better resources.
I typically don't bother with magazines that often. I pay for internet already. All the info is fresh and readily available there. Not to mention article lead times, it's usually old news by the time you read it.
Even if you have to pay more for it... think of how much time is spend reading through mags like CPU and MaxPC... for the time spent its totally worth it
