What overclocking program are you using?

Well ati tool .27 took a shit on me once I upgraded to newer drivers a few months ago and I see a lot of other people can't get it working either. (vista?) Is their a way to get it working? Or can you please recommend a new program. Is rivatuner my best bet? I've used it before and it only mad me want ati tool back that much more.

P.S. I just tried ATI tool .27 b4 with no luck. It reads the temperature but you can't overclock the card. It reads the memory and core at zero.

I actually just came to this forum to find out the same thing, as I just recieved my 8800gt this morning. I love ATI Tool for its simplistic and no frills design. Whats the difference between ATI tool and rivatuner? I haven't tried riva tuner yet.

QFT. Riva tuner is the opposite of that. The profiles were also soooo much easier to do under ATI Tool.

yeah riva tuner is like a little more complicated where you can really mess with it.

while the ati tool its easy to use nothing really that hard but stress and test and set. really that simple and if your computer crashs it gives you the results of how much it was pushing till it crashed and so on. still good stuff though

ati tool for some pre stress testing then Rivatuner for some final overclocking profiles to load when windows starts, Bios flashing would be my next step, but I worry id either screw it up or forget to flash it to stock for an RMA or something

I use ati tray tools, for some reason ATI tool didn't support the x1950pro so I went with tray tools, and it works great, can't think of a reason to switch back to ati tool now (even if they do support my card).

I did not know that ATI Tool was still being developed. I thought the last version was 0.26 released in December 2006. It is good to see that development is being continued on that utility.

As far as most are concerned it isn't. It's not working on most computers with the latest drivers and Vista 32.

I agree with those saying ATItool is easier to use than Rivatuner, but it's not a big deal. Rivatuner doesn't have a big learning curve or anything, it just took me an extra five minutes to figure out.

There are plenty of guides out there for RivaTuner. I used one and had my OC's set on my 8800GTX within a couple of hours.

I can't get ATI Tools working because of Vista64 so I don't really have a choice.

I use Riva Tuner to find the best OC for the core/shader/ram settings and then mod the bios and reflash the card.................. Easy enough and you don't have to screw around with anything else after that if you don't want to............
