I guess this thread can serve a dual purpose; for one, you can say what you use to help advance your overclocks, and for another, you can help me advance my overclock, heh. The fastest it would appear I can get Prime95 to run for more than 6 hours on my 3200+, MSI K8N Neo2 and SLK-948U is 2.4 ghz (240x10). I've been doing that at 1.60Vcore with the hopes that it will burn in the processor and I'll be slowly able to get my system Prime-stable at higher clocks. Or, at least, that's the way it worked with my experience with Athlon XPs.
Are Athlon 64s a different deal when it comes to burning in? A couple nights' worth of running Prime 95 (it finally generates an error after about 10-11 hours) at 2.4ghz and 1.6V hasn't yielded any headroom whatsoever; Prime crashes within 4 hours at 2.45, within 3 at 2.5. My goal is to get it to at least 8, at 2.6 ghz. Think it's possible, and if so, how?
(btw, the RAM is Corsair PC3200 XMS CAS2...so it shouldn't be a limiting factor. Nor should PSU)
