10x0 rebrands or R9 4x0 rebrands?

It's pretty much a given that neither nvidia nor AMD will have a top to bottom pascal/polaris line up.

So what would be the potential candidates for a rebrand?

On the nvidia side I'm betting on the GTX 950 and 970, maybe the 750Ti too and probably most of the mobile chips

On the AMD side, well the Full Fiji lineup and maybe Tonga

I don't think we'll be seeing any new Maxwell GPUs except for maybe Teslas and Quadros and that low-end OEM stuff they do like 730s, 710s, etc. But GeForce... no way.

This is hilarious because I expected practically no rebrands. The jump to new node makes the old tech obsolete.

Well AMD doesn't have to much choice until Vega is ready for their top end ....Polaris 10 might match Fury non x at best

I'm not expecting re-brands, I think Pascal is going top to bottom.

As for AMD, I hope the same, but I don't know.

Why couldn't AMD just give Fury/Fury X the node change and call it a day for higher end as all it needs is some speed and if I remember right it was to be 20nm and not 28nm..if the 480X rumors are correct then it has already taking there current place.

Nvidia seems to be done with rebranding - they will just sell older cards with new price point. For example they didn't bother rebranding 750 into 940 which seemed quite likely.

That's a much better idea than rebranding a card.

I imagine the 900 line will suffice alongside the newer gen, but I guess 980 Ti's will become scarce...
