I was thinking about completely building a new case for a while versus altering my old one, but I started looking into the cost for materials. there is a company near where I live and I called them up and asked about a quote on a 4' x 3' piece of 1/8" aluminum and got the return of "$63.**" and I thought, "Damn that's expensive." So, for those of you who have completely built there own case and bought the materials, what did you use, and how much was it. Cause I'm not the type of person that can throw out $100+ dollars on a new case thus, why I thought about doing custom, but after investing in materials and tools, thats still pushing a hundred.

That's a reasonable price, considering that 1/8" is more thick than you need, and you wouldn't need much more aluminum than that. Try 1/16" for exterior panels, and 1/8" thick L-channel material for the chassis skeleton. That should reduce prices nicely. You can possibly save money on tools by begging and borrowing, or by paying someone (the aluminum supplier?) to make cuts for you.
