what kinda video problem is this?

i just picked up this card, atix1950xtx at frys.
works great in everything but games. this problem is with all my games.

i have a 430w enermax psu. there are three amp ratings, 38a, 44a and two 20a on the 12volt line.
could it be a power problem? or is the card junk already?
everything on the card is 100% stock, my entire system is no way overclocked.
amd 4400+ x2 with abit sli mobo
no sli config
one thing that might help. my 6 pin pcie power connector (adapter) has two 4 molex connections to 1 pcie conncetor, now the card or my system will not boot if both molex connectors are connected, however when one of the molex connectors are connected, my system boots and works fine as long as i dont game any..

Your PSU seems fine. That looks like a bad card.

Edit: Just read about the molex thing. Try every single possible combination of molex connectors before bringing the card back.
 
yea.. i tried all my connections, unplugged everything except a hdd and my vid card...
must be the card.. i did buy it open box, frys said it was good.
under windows its fine.. so they faild to test the card for what it was ment for..

the first picture looks like the artifacts that appear when the video ram is overclocked too high,

try to lower the ram speed (below stock if needs be) and see what happens

second picture looks like the gpu went bad, ....

the artifacts can also be caused by driver corruption,

first thing i would do is install a clean OS and drivers, or at least use the driver cleaner to remove relative drivers and reinstall them , especially if you had any nvidia graphic drivers installed previously
 
hmmm that seemed to have helped a lot.
i have the memory and gpu clocked
580 gpu and 837 mem
most of the issues have gone away, some very slight..
kinda mad thos cuzz those clocks are no where near what i paid for

as far as drivers, i installed em twice, did use driver cleaner, old card was x700pro
