ok i installed a new sata burner in my comp today. configuration is in my sig. i have two raptors, a C and a D. C had operating system, D had basic other data including iso's of my apps and my entire steam folder. at one point while windows was starting i hard rebooted my comp cause i'd missed hitting delete and i wanted to see if my new drive was recognizing correctly. after working through which ports were which on my p5w dh deluxe i figured out i had to enable that jmicron to have a 4th sata port.

anyway, long story short when i tried to boot back into windows it wanted to do a check disk so i said ok. it took about 10 minutes of recovering all kinds of files and when i got back into windows what had happened was that it duplicated my C drive onto my D drive for some unknown reason. it seems like i've lost everything that was on the D drive. i've tried a program called restoration and it sees my C and my D as identical with the files to "undelete" exactly the same on C and D.

what the hell has happened and what can i do about it???
