What is your expectation in 2011?

1) With the launch of SNB, 2011 is shaping up to be a big year. It marks the first salvo in mobile war 2011 and plenty more to come.

2) With significant development in low cost 3-D displays monstor cards like 69XX series, and price decline in 30 PC gaming on 3-D should break the back of Console gaming.

3) With Crucial C400 series launch, there should be a price war with SSDs and should bring down the price of SSDs so that an average consumer can afford it.

keeping these 3 points into consideration what is your expectation for 2011?
1) Is it gonna be a 3-D year?
2) Is it gonna be an SSD year?
3) Is it gonna a mobility year?

Your openion will also help me decide my next high end gaming rig which is definately gonna be a 2600K and I want to do gaming at 2560X1600 resolution

I truly believe 2011 will be the mobility year.
AMD will be back in the game in netbooks and laptops and Intel will reply sooner or later, which will (hopefully) bring new developments to the scene and the prices down.

But I also believe SSD will rule the hardware news as prices will hopefully fall and OEM manufacturers will start to integrate them in their systems, bringing what now still is an enthusiast piece of hardware to the masses.

This year is going to end up being big on who offers the best cpu and gpu virtualization tech.

From the ones you listed SSD could be the dominant issue but I won't consider it a big deal unless software comes out tailored to the advantages SSDs have over platter drives acting as a vanguard for new standards in programming and consumer content.

What do you mean by "mobility"? Most of the strides that I've seen on the mobility front are directed towards smartphones and tablets.

I think hardcore PC gamers are less likely to buy into the 3D gimmick than mainstream consumers who've been to see avatar.

I do think there will be huge strides in netbook power and usability, and that more powerful tablets will start appearing that have (1) customised interfaces (2) digitizers (3) e-ink and (4) ips panels.

The massive surge in tablet production towards the end of 2010 was mostly to take advantage of the post-ipad furore, but also to test the waters, and with advances in mobile processing and graphics tech I'd hope to see some more serious products coming out.
