Very irritated with my mac today. Yesterday my buddy played a little prank on me, disabling IPv4 in my wireless preferences, then disabling my wireless card. Funny thing, when ipv4 and v6 are both disabled, go ahead and try and turn on your wifi, it doesn't work(STUPID). Needless to say it took me a while to get this figured out.

Anyway, that's fixed, now when I return from standby, my touchpad will not work, or will work on/off, or will go crazy until I reboot the machine, this has happened several times today, it's very frustrating, and I really don't want to throw my macbook pro at the wall.

Sorry about the rant, I'm not supposed to have to fix this thing! ;)
 
Go find your "friend" and smack him repeatedly.

Then, try zapping your PRAM.

Other than that I have no idea.

umm, I can never remember correctly but

I think its command-option-P-R right after you turn it on. Then it'll chime again and restart. I usually do it 3 times for good measure.

It's resets the Parameter RAM. Kinda unfucks certain things. It's late and I'm especially tired

Unless you mean smacking the friend. Aim for the nose

I would but I got him pretty good the day before. It's an ongoing thing, but it's getting a little out of hand. He definitely GOT me though, I can't believe that the wifi wont even power on when ipv4 is disabled.
 
...you let him mess up your MBP? I'd mess up all of his stupid little Windoze machines then, just to be fair.

And BTW, if you do not want that 'POS', PM me for my address, I'll take it from you :)
 
Haha, I left it at work when I went on a service call, and had to run to class shortly after, I try never to leave it unattended for so long. Yesterday I edited his hosts file to redirect 'google.com' to something less appropriate.
